Model kits, being the only 3D representations of the characters available, are one of the categories of A-ko merchandise that I’ve gone out of my way to collect. I would have been satisfied with some action figures, but having these actually caused me to learn how to paint. A few of these were done by me probably about 15 years ago, they have fallen and had their heads and arms fall off repeatedly because I didn’t pin them to a base. Cause I wanted action figures, dammit. I do think these are all great and plan to build every one before I die.
I’ve also made the effort to scan all of the paper inserts that came with these kits, rather than just photograph them, because I think they’re part of the fun. The majority of them have unique art you won’t see anywhere else, like the cute poolside B-ko on the Part 2 Musasiya kit.
